Jude prepares to taste the vegetable curry
By nicola moir:
Cardonald kid Jude Speirs received a vegetable cooking masterclass from Australian-born chef Martin Teplitzky at the city’s Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA). In the week that Paul McCartney called for Brits to adopt a Meat-Free Monday to help combat climate change, award-winning chef Teplitzky demonstrated how to create imaginative and delicious dishes using fresh home-grown vegetables as part of the venue’s Summer This Land is Your Land exhibition. The free course, at CCA on Sauchiehall Street, is run by Encore Creative Catering and is open to the public today (Thursday, June 18) and Friday, 3.30pm-4.30pm. After tasting a vegetable curry, Jude, 4, said: “It was great fun.” Teplitzky, Encore’s head chef for the CCA, added: “These events are invaluable both in generating enthusiasm for cooking as well as raising awareness of the potential of some of the most basic ingredients, all of which can be home-grown.”
